Buy More Fresh, Local, Food with CalFresh

The CalFresh Program provides financial assistance to low-wage earners to buy fresh food, seeds, and starts!  Many local farmers’ markets accept CalFresh and offer a Matching Program which can double the value when purchasing fruits or vegetables.  The maximum benefit for a family of four is approximately $640 per month. Learn more about this program and the latest benefits updates for COVID, wildfires, and by visiting Nevada County Social Services.

In the 2022 season, you can shop at the following markets in Nevada County and get ‘Farmers Market Match’, which means you get $1 extra to spend on local food for each CalFresh dollar you spend, up to $10. To learn more about Market Match, please visit marketmatch.org
