CalFresh if a food benefit program that gives you direct access to fresh, local, nutritious foods, stretches your food dollar, gives you the opportunity to grow your own food, and supports local farmers.   The average CalFresh allotment per household in California is $304 each month.  This helps to supplement your food budget so your resources can be spent on other items.

There are 15,000 Nevada County residents who are considered food insecure and have no consistent way to feed themselves or their families.  Sierra Harvest can help!

Nevada County residents can apply for CalFresh benefits by making an appointment at the Department of Social Services (DSS) at 950 Maidu Avenue in Nevada City or at Joseph’s Center at 10075 Levon, Suite 202 in Truckee.  You can also apply online at www.C4Yourself.com
