Bear Yuba Land Trust-Farm to Fork: Apple Harvest in Oregon House

Beginning in June with cherries, BYLT’s foodie treks have featured fresh seasonal produce each month from the Oregon House area (terroir). As we move from Summer to Autumn, October is a perfect month for fresh local apples.

Following a visit to some old Oregon House Valley apple trees, we move on to Yuba Harvest Café for a delightful luncheon. Host Steven Dambeck of Yuba Harvest will feature apples harvested from some of these orchards with this delicious fall menu: Potato Latkes (pancakes) with house-made applesauce and sour cream; local Pork Sausage with red cabbage and apples on polenta and for dessert, Tarte Tatin (upside down apple tart). Yuba Harvest carries fine local wines you may purchase to compliment your meal if you wish. Join us as we learn about local agriculture, support small farmers/businesses and make new friends while enjoying fresh local cuisine.
