Briarpatch Co-op Cooking Classes: The Alchemy of Chocolate

FEBRUARY 13TH 6:00-8:00PM

With Deanna Figueira

The Aztecs believed cacao seeds were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom.  The seeds once had so much value that they were used as a form of currency.  All these years later, there is a lot of chocolate out there, but how much of it is really good chocolate?  Tonight, you will learn to make delicious and nutritious chocolates like a pro!  We will prepare a variety of fun and tempting treats for you and the chocolate-lovers in your life that you can then recreate in your own kitchen.  Savor these wonderful creations paired with fruit and cheeses: Spicy Mayan Truffles, Dark Chocolate-Dipped Coconut Decadence, Peanut Butter Bombs, and Raw Cacão Vitality.  Life is short, eat dessert first! **Gluten-Free; Vegan; Dairy-Free (chocolates are dairy-free, cheese is optional accompaniment)**
