Briarpatch Co-op Cooking: English Breakfast

Having emerged in the mid-1800s, English Breakfast used to consist of a fry up accompanied with numerous cups of strong black tea that was mixed with sugar and cream. Orange juice and fruit was not uncommon, especially among more health-conscious Brits. For today’s modern version we will accompany Proper Pots of Tea for breakfast with typical English accompaniments Sourdough Crumpets, Jacobean Banbury Cakes and Gingerbread Muffins with Lemon Curd.
