Briarpatch Co-op Cooking Classes: WEST AFRICAN FESTIVAL

The origins of American soul food lie in West Africa, yet many of the plants it uses grow in the southern U.S. Interestingly, West Africans now use many ingredients from the Americas! In class, though, we will experience traditional ingredients new to most people, such as baobab, jaggery, and tiger nut. We’ll do this as we prepare a Ground Nut Stew with Millet, West African Cucumber Salad, Baobab Plantain Pies, a ginger soft drink, and Tiger Nut Milk.

**NEW** $20 – Kitchen Kindness Level: At this level, folks can attend classes at a rate below the Owner “Real Cost” Level; supported by generous contributions of those in our co-op community who sign up at the Benefactor Level.
