Good Food Tour at Lyman Gilmore Middle School Garden – CANCELLED
DUE TO SCHOOL CLOSURES, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Friday, March 27, 12- 1pm
Everyone deserves access to fresh, local food in Nevada County. At this Sierra Harvest Good Food Tour, find out how we can achieve:
- Fresh and healthy, scratch-cooked school lunches for all
- Backyard gardens to make organic produce available to everyone
- Training and mentorship for aspiring farmers who can supply our community with fresh, healthy food for years to come
Join us on Friday, March 327 from 12 -1 at Lyman Gilmore Middle School, where we’ll visit the school garden, where 5-6th grade students in the Garden Club spend their lunchtime learning how to grow vegetables for the entire school. You’ll see and hear about the creative ways these students are learning to love fresh vegetables.
This is an informational event and we hope you will be inspired to share it with others! There is no cost attend and you will not be asked to make a financial contribution.
Please RSVP! Call at 530-265-2343 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your space.
Location: Lyman Gilmore Middle School is located at 10837 Rough and Ready Hwy, Grass Valley. Special note on modification needed with GPS – when you arrive near the address on Rough & Ready Hwy, you will need to turn onto Squirrel Creek Road (there is only one way turn from either direction) and then make a quick left onto Gilmore Way. Follow Gilmore Way to the school parking lot. Meet at the school office to sign-in. If you miss the turn from Squirel Creek onto Gilmore Way, you will see Scotten Elementary School (and you’ll need to turn around and go back).
