Mom’s on the Mountain Fundraising Hike at Sugar Bowl

Moms on the Mountain (MOMS) is a fundraiser for the Nevada City Schools Foundation, which benefits the students of our school district. It is a non-competitive day of scenic beauty, personal challenge and fun for women: mothers and non-moms alike. We’ve had 3 generations hiking and raising funds at the same event. Our hikers have ranged in age from 18 to 80+.

Sierra Harvest‘s Food Love Farms local organic produced will be featured through out the meals at the event.

$35.00 gets you signed up for all the fun and the first 100 to sign-up will receive a MOMs on the Mountain T-shirt. You must be female and 18 years or older to participate.
Bring your registration confirmation and waiver with you to the event.

Why Should You Come?

It’s really fun and it’s for the kids! The Nevada City Schools Foundation provides funding to support the Nevada County Girls Who Code program, technology and arts programs and many other student enrichment programs.
There will be three well-marked hiking options. The easiest option will be just under 3 miles out and back to Mary Lake. The intermediate hike will be a 5 mile loop and the most challenging hike is an 8 mile loop out towards Mt. Anderson Peak. Both the intermediate and challenging hikes are along the beautiful Pacific Crest Trail with lots of fresh air and breathtaking views. The 8 mile route crests at the top of Mount Judah with a perfect place to snap photos with Lake Tahoe in the distance.
If you think you are up for the full challenge to Mt. Anderson you will need to leave early as it is a longer trek and we are to return back to the lodge by 12:00pm.
