Nevada County Resource Conservation District’s: Raptors of Nevada County!

The next seminar in the Nevada County Resource Conservation District’s Fall 2014 / Spring 2015 Seminar Series will be Raptors of Nevada County!

This seminar is scheduled for Monday, March 23rd, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Our speaker will be author and Sierra Pacific Industries’ Wildlife Biologist, Amanda Shufelberger.

Born in Redding, California, Amanda attended Shasta College and Humboldt State University.  She was a Veterinary Technician, Wildland Firefighter, and EMT before establishing her career as a Wildlife Biologist.  She worked for USFWS, National Park Service, and USFS before working for private industry.  Currently she is a wildlife biologist for Sierra Pacific Industries where “Buddy” the wolverine lives.  She puts on an excellent presentation including photos and audio clips of raptor calls.  Amanda has an amazing ability to mimic different types of raptor calls, and as an extra bonus, she will update us on the health and life of Buddy, who has been seen each year for eight seasons.

Amanda has written two children’s books on Buddy:  “Buddy, the Wayward Wolverine” and “The Magic Chicken Tree”.

Due to the ‘maximum occupancy’ limit of our venue, attendees must register for this seminar.  Attendees will be given the name of the venue when they register.  We request a donation of $5 and you can pay at the door.
