Have you ever wanted to make your own fermented vegetables? It’s easy and affordable to make you own, so you can enjoy the flavor and probiotic health benefits of raw organic kraut and kimchi using the vegetables from your garden or local farmer’s market!

 This short introductory discussion and fermentation demonstration will give you all the basic info you need to make your own fermented vegetables in glass jars or stoneware crocks. We will talk about the history, discuss favorite ingredients, and share some recipes, while we chop and sample a few fresh varieties.

T. Turtlington is a gardener, artist, avid food fan, and fermentation fanatic. He started making ferments 12 years ago and has enjoyed the fun and the nutrition ever since. He has taught with the likes of legendary fermenters such as Frank Cook and Sandor Katz, and is included in the book The Art of Fermentation.
