Sierra Harvest: Farm Potluck at Cosmic Roots Ranch – Thur. July 18th, 2019

Jesse and Ellen - Cosmic Roots - with pigs Join Sierra Harvest for Potlucks throughout the growing season.  Celebrate our local food community on a number of different farms!

All potlucks take place on the first & third Thursdays of the month from 5:30-8pm.  Farm tour starts at 5:30pm and potluck at 6pm. This potluck will be hosted by Ellen Cole and Jesse Olson of Cosmic Roots Ranch.

Cosmic Roots Ranch was established 2015 by Ellen & Jesse.  With a passion to farm, and create a space that the community could enjoy, they chose to primarily raise Mangalista pigs, which is a heritage breed originating from Hungry.  Mangalitsa is considered to be the Kobe Beef of Pork, and definitely lives up to its name.  You can find their pork at the ranch Farm Stand, cosmic roots ranch 2018

and also locally at Mother Truckers & The Ham Stand.  In addition to hogs, they also grow seasonal gardens, and make hand crafted soaps, candles and lip balms, deriving from the Lard they refine from their pigs.  They love what they do at Cosmic Roots Ranch, and hope to be a staple farm in the community for years to come.
