Sierra Harvest: Farm Potluck at Early Bird Farm – Thur. Aug. 1st, 2019
Join Sierra Harvest for Potlucks throughout the growing season. Celebrate our local food community on a number of different farms! All potlucks take place on the first & third Thursdays of the month from 5:30-8pm. Farm tour starts at 5:40pm and potluck at 6:10pm with live music during dinner and even a free pancake tasting – who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner? This potluck will be hosted by Drew and Sabrina Speroni of Early Bird Farm.
Early Bird Farm is nestled in the Sierra Foothills in Nevada City, California. The farm was established in 2014 using sustainable practices to grow the healthiest and most nutrient dense produce. Farmer Drew has a passion for stewardship of the land, supporting a healthy community, and raising a happy, healthy, God loving family. Early Bird Farm supplies local restaurants, bakeries, caterers, distributors and grocery stores with fresh organic produce and stone milled flours.
What to bring:
Utensils, a plate and cup for yourself/selves
A bountiful dish to share (its nice to label key ingredients for those with allergies)
A blanket or chair to sit on
Cash or check to purchase the following directly from Drew: Assortment of organic flours, pancake,
polenta and cornbread mixes, flowers, produce and even an Early Bird Farm hat!
Organic flours such as hard red spring wheat, Alpowa soft white wheat, rye flour, Iraqui Durum Wheat flour, Frassinetto Wheat Flour, rice flour, blue corn meal, and white corn polenta. They will also have their pancake mix and cornbread mix available along with Early Bird Farm hats.
There is NO CHARGE and NO RSVP needed.
Early Bird Farm: 11019 Newtown Road, Nevada City, CA 95959. Take Highway 49 from Nevada City and turn left onto Newtown Road just past the Willo restaurant. Farm is exactly one mile from the Wilo on the left. There will be signage on where to park.
