Dan Clark Orchards – Russell Valley
We learn more about our local food possibilities every day. Like when Dan Clark of Russel Valley, just north of Truckee, stopped in with crates full of Honeycrisp and Jonathan Apples from his 100 tree orchard! Yes! 100 apple trees right here in Truckee! The Honey-crisps are juicy, sweet and of course crisp! Jonathan’s are tart and great for baking and making apple sauce! Stop in and try some of our local bounty! And pick-up one of Dan’s handmade crates too.

Let’s get one of these for Truckee-Tahoe…a Bubbly Dynamic anaerobic digester!
By Eduardo Garcia – New York Times, Sept 21, 2019
Bubbly Dynamics said their anaerobic digester will turn organic waste into compost, biogas and a nutrient-rich liquid in which to grow algae. The digester is expected to help Bubbly Dynamics implement a circular economy, a model that could help fight climate change by feeding a rapidly growing urban population with food grown locally using organic methods. This closed-loop system would create little to no waste because materials would be reused, shared, repaired and refurbished. For more, read the entire article. Click Here!

Who we are what we do:
Tahoe Food Hub (TFH) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to develop a local food system that increases access to local food for communities surrounding Lake Tahoe and benefits diversified family farms within 150-miles. Our goal is to support farms using regenerative farming practices by providing them a fair marketplace to sell their products. Through this agricultural network, we can connect our community with where their food comes from and better understand the social, environmental and economic benefits of a local food system.
