This time of year you want to be ready with hospitality to offer guests, whether expected or unexpected. It doesn’t have to be elaborate to be unforgettable. If you have a stash of Spicy Curried Mixed Nuts in your pantry, they can be quickly warmed to serve with drinks. Or if you have a little more time, keep some Lemon Butter Cookie dough in the freezer to roll in colored sugar crystals and bake for afternoon visitors. More advanced planning will be needed for Cognac Chocolate Truffles or Candied Orange Peel, but they keep very well in the fridge to pull out when needed. |
