First Rain Farm is a diverse, certified organic, and no-till operation combining livestock with annual and perennial crops. We consider ourselves a regenerative farm and take pride in how we steward the land, grow crops exclusively using compost we generate on-site, and provide abundant and healthy food for our community. In addition to our fields and the crops we grow, we raise Nubian and Nubian x Kiko goats. We use goats to manage our own land through targeted and rotated grazing and within our community we offer a land-management service using goats; reducing excess fuels, and maintaining open space. During the summer you can come say hello to us at the Nevada City Farmers Market or come to the farm and enjoy a berry U-Pick with your friends or family.

Additional Products
We offer a land-management service within our local area. Our herd of goats are on constant rotation within the area; reducing vegetative buildup on the land and providing significant fuel-reduction and fire protection. We aim to restore balance to the lands we manage by reducing built-up vegetation, thinning the understory, and ultimately reintroducing "good" fire to the landscape.
