With winter weather safely behind us (fingers crossed!) it’s time to get our home gardens going! Luckily the Food Love Farm has you covered with plant sales happening for the next three Saturdays from 9AM-12:30PM.
These little plants have been grown and tended with love, are organically grown, and are ready to go home with you! Bring the whole family along to check out the farm and see what’s growing.

The farm has 35 different varieties of vigorous starts of just about anything you’d want to eat- lots of tomatoes, culinary herbs like parsley and basil (sweet, lemon, purple), eggplant, peppers (lunchbox peppers in yellow, orange, and red!), rainbow chard, tomatillo, several types of kale, broccoli, cabbage, head lettuce, strawberries, cucumbers, melons, summer and winter squash, and lots of flowers! (violas, marigolds, zinnias, nasturtiums, sunflowers, and more).
The Food Love Farm is located at the Burton Homestead, 16200 Lake Vera Purdon Rd., in Nevada City. All proceeds go to supporting farm to school education in our local community.
Do you have a student at one of the schools in Sierra Harvest’s Farm to School program? Keep your eyes peeled for the annual spring plant start sale the first week of May happening at 21 participating schools.
